Aloha and Welcome to my site!

My name is Sunny Weeks and I was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawai'i.  I studied linguistics at the University of Hawai'i, but ultimately decided to go for my dream career as an artist in 2016.

​                     

I enjoy working with black and white because these two "colors" represent a perfect balance.   Yin and a yang, night and day, loud and quiet.  With just two colors, our minds can interpret motion and feeling.  Busy lines create a story, but the coexisting presence of emptiness allows for quiet reflection.  I've recently started working with color, because well why not?

 

I fervently love my home in Hawai'i, and am deeply inspired by my environment.  I love to draw birds, botanicals, beachscapes, tropical ladies in mu'umu'u and anything else that reminds me of warm evenings and sunny days.  I enjoy mellow music and a serene zephyr, and hope to bring quiet moments to you through my artwork.
