Lokta paper is a traditional wildcrafted paper originating from Nepal. It is made from Daphne bark, and is naturally sustainable. The practice of Lokta paper making dates back thousands of years. Today, the industry is predominantly employed by women in rural areas of Nepal. Each piece holds its own inclusions, revealing its creation story.
This paper was handmade in Nepal. After being sent to Hawaii, it was hand cut and ironed before being printed in Sunny’s Hawai'i home.
